Converge -"petitioning the empty sky" 12" |
Fuckin crazy screamin chaotic metal hardcore with old-school influences. One member of Converge plays in the superb old-school act called Ten Yard Fight. This is easily the best record Converge has released so far. Better riffs and speed than the Caring and Killing record and the singer screams his guts out. Definetly the best stuff ever to be released by Equal Vison. :-) | Equal Vison Records p.o. box 14 Hudson NY 12534 |

Nine -"kissed by the misanthrope" 12" |
Nine are back with a new record, well it aint that new. The cd-version was available in the summmer of 98', but the vinyl version hasn't been available until now. (March 99) The vinyl version is released on Bridge Records and the cd version on Sidekicks Records. Nine has developed a more metal/rock kind of music a'la Entombed. Nine have most likely picked up some influences from Entombed during thier tour. The production is great, which makes this one of the best swedish hc releases. | Bridge Records p.o. box 1903 58118 Linkoping Sweden |

Separation-"the Phyte" 10" |
Separation have evolved since their last cd, and are now playing a mixture of punk and noisecore alį Swing Kids, together with some high octaves. It's not as chaotic as Swing Kids, but it's s fact that Separation are becoming more and more a noisecore band. If you like San Diego styled hardcore, this is your cup of tea. | Phyte Records p.o. box 14228 Santa Barbara, CA 931007 USA |

Switchblade "s/t" 10" ![]() |
Yet again, Switchblade is back with a new record. This time it's a 10" released on Trust No One. This is probably one of the best new bands to emerge from the depths of the wintercold and polarbear covered land in the north called Sweden. Switchblade has moved away from the Swing Kids/HHIG influenced type of music that can be found on their first 7", but still have some influenecs left. (The 7" is still great) The first song starts of with a weird noise that suddenly blasts of into a thick and heavy mass which will cover your record-player with marks for eternity. Take some of the brutality found in His Hero is Gone, mix it together with the most original and well played drums that you can imagine and then top it of with two bassplayers who scream their guts out, and finally add some of Breach's noisiness. 50% music and 50% NOISE! Try it, you won't be disappointed. | Trust No One Records Helgalunden 5 11858 Stockholm Sweden |
